Tree canopy changes everything
A small lot under mature oak and maple canopy can take longer than a much larger open property. Leaf volume, wet leaves, late-dropping oaks and leaves trapped in hedges or beds all add labour.
Beds and cutbacks are part of the scope
A cleanup that only removes lawn leaves is not the same as a full property close-down. Perennial work, bed clearing, final edging and debris removal can materially change the time required.
Access affects labour
Tight side yards, stairs, backyard gates and long carry distances matter because every bag or tarp of material still has to leave the property.
Two-pass cleanups can make sense
On heavily treed properties, an earlier pass can keep turf from sitting under wet leaves while a second pass handles late leaf drop. That approach often produces a better result than waiting until everything is buried.
A written scope prevents surprises
The cleanest quote lists what is included, what is being hauled away and whether lawn mowing, cutbacks or additional visits are part of the price.
