What lasts is underneath
Most hardscape failures start before the first paver is laid.
The GTA freeze-thaw cycle is unforgiving. A patio or walkway can look perfect on installation day and still fail early if excavation depth, base material, compaction or drainage were rushed.
A&R approaches stonework as a system. The visible surface matters, but so do the layers beneath it, the grades around it and the way it meets the rest of the property.
The finish gets the compliments. The base is what earns them years later.

Excavation
Material is removed to the depth required for the project and site conditions.
Base Preparation
Granular base is installed and compacted in lifts according to the application.
Layout & Installation
Pavers or stone are laid with planned lines, patterns, borders and transitions.
Cuts & Edge Restraint
Perimeters and detailed cuts are finished to keep the installation clean and stable.
Final Finish
Jointing, cleanup and surrounding landscape tie-ins are completed as specified in the quote.

Why does base preparation matter so much?
The base carries the load, manages movement and helps the installation survive Ontario freeze-thaw cycles. Poor base work is one of the most common causes of settling and heaving.
Do you build patios and walkways?
Yes. Patios, walkways, front entrances, borders and related landscape stonework are core project types.
Can you replace old interlock?
Yes. Existing pavers and base conditions can be assessed to determine whether replacement, rebuilding or selective repair makes sense.
Do you handle drainage and grading?
Site drainage and grade transitions are considered as part of the project planning. The exact scope depends on the property.
How long does a project take?
Timing depends on size, access, excavation, material choice and complexity. We establish an expected schedule after the site visit and scope are confirmed.
